Email Etiquette

Learn a little about Email Etiquette...

With email quickly becoming one of the most used communication mediums in the world, it is no wonder that there is a growing demand for email etiquette. How many times have you sat in front of the computer and wondered if you just made a fool of yourself by sending that slightly off-color joke to everybody on your email list. Or how many times have you received an email and wondered if the sender even thought to hit the spell check. Follow the few simple rules, and you will be sure to keep you from making an email etiquette faux pas.

Don’t send rambling emails. Get to the point, answer any questions from the email you received and try to answer any questions that might come from the reply.

USE SPELL CHECK! Nothing makes you look like a bigger idiot than when your email is filled with dum speling mistaks.

Don’t attach any unnecessary mega files.

Don’t write in CAPITALS. It looks like you are shouting.

Do not forward chain letters. Do not forward trivial, offensive, racist or obscene material.

Do not forward someone else’s email without their permission.

If you follow these few simple etiquette rules, your emails will always be received with a smile.
