The internet provides a great place to do comparison shopping. But if you are like most people, you either kill a tree trying to get all of the necessary information or test the limits of your memory trying to remember all the prices that you saw. But comparison shopping doesn’t have to be hard.

The easiest and least environmentally damaging way to comparison shop on the internet is to use multiple browser windows. Now that might sound a little technical but chances are, you are using one right now. It is what most people use to surf the internet. Chances are the browser you are using is Microsoft Explorer.

Now to open multiple browser windows, double click on the Explorer icon several times, however many places you wish to comparison shop at double click that many time. So if you want to comparison shop at three website, double click on the icon three times. This will open three browser windows.

Check to see if you have opened three browser windows by looking at the bottom of your screen. Across from the start button, there should be three grey boxes with little Explorer icons in them. You can use your mouse to click on the different boxes and go to the different browser windows.

Now, click on the first grey box. In that browser window, go to one of the stores you wanted to comparison shop at. Then click on the second grey box. Use this browser window to go to another store. Repeat this process in each of the browser windows.

Now all you have to do is find the item you would like to buy from each store. You can use your mouse to go between the windows or reduce the size of your windows and have the browser windows sitting side by side.

You can use this technique to comparison shop for electronics, airfare and just about anything else you would like to buy.
