Off season travel

Learn a little about Off season travel...

Are you free to travel any time of the year? Are you more interested in seeing the sites than enjoying the weather? Do you hate crowds? Do you like to save money while traveling? Then off season travel might be just the thing for you.

Off season travel is when you travel while other people stay home. Off season travel dates vary for different travel destinations.

So why do off season travel dates exist? The main reason is weather. Many people want to travel to a location when the weather will be at it’s best. That’s not to say that during the off season, the weather is terrible. In some locations, the weather in the off season is very enjoyable, it’s just not as enjoyable as in the peak season.

Another reason that off season travel dates exist is school. Many people either have children in school or are in school themselves. Since most people do not feel comfortable pulling either their child or themselves out of school, they will travel around the dates that school is in session.

Off season travel is wonderful for those that hate crowds. Visiting popular attractions during the off seasons translates to less people, fewer crowds and less hassle. The legendary long lines at places like Disney World are cut in half or more by visiting the attraction in the off season.

What does off season travel mean to you? If you can swing traveling in the off season, you can save lots of money. Many times, travel destinations that are in the off season will have greatly reduced prices on airfare, lodging, car rental and even attractions. The general thought in the travel industry is cheap business is still business. That hotel room that goes for $250 a night during peak season is still there on the off season and they would much rather fill the empty rooms with $100 a night customers than no one at all.

A word of warning. Some off season travel dates are due to extreme weather. For example, the off season travel dates for the Caribbean are due to the fact that it is hurricane season there during that time. While there most likely won’t be a hurricane, the chances are greatly increased. Consult both your travel agent and weather forecasts to determine if the off season travel dates are due to bad weather or dangerous weather.

Here is a list of off season travel dates for various locations throughout the world. Remember, off season travel can be rewarding, cheap and fun. See if maybe you can take advantage of a little off season fun this year.
