The general thought in the travel industry is cheap business is still business. That hotel room that goes for $250 a night during peak season is still there on the off season and they would much rather fill the empty rooms with $100 a night customers than no one at all.

A word of warning. Some off season travel dates are due to extreme weather. For example, the off season travel dates for the Caribbean are due to the fact that it is hurricane season there during that time. While there most likely won’t be a hurricane, the chances are greatly increased. Consult both your travel agent and weather forecasts to determine if the off season travel dates are due to bad weather or dangerous weather.
